These photos was taken some days ago in Golem, where for the first time trained and certified lifeguards were monitoring the beach.
Watchtower models, already defined by a national competition, have been placed in the selected beaches as a pilot project. Each beach will have its own model, which will also help to identify it. In addition opf establishing Watchtowers, the Albanian National Coastal Agency has also trained 40 students from the Univeristy of Sports of Tirana in the international exchange of the Federation of Coastal Guards in Montenegro.
Albania has already 40 international certified guards, who are starting to work along the Albanian coast. Nine of the lifeguards are girls and 3 of them are now monitoring the Golem beach and the “Shkembi i Kavajës” beach.
The Albanian National Coastal Agency aims to create for this season, some good models of public spaces administration, which will extend along the entire coastline. The collaboration with private business is having a successful impact and the result of this would be the creation of safer holidays during the summer season.
