It was inaugurated on October 28, 1981 and is the largest museum institution in Albania.It occupies a total area of 27,000 m2 and has an exhibition area of 18,000 m2. In his environments are exposed 6290 museum objects. Here you can visit the old Pavilion, the pavilion of the Middle Ages, the Independence Pavilion, and LANÇ's Pavilion, Communist Terror pavilion, The Iconography Pavilion, Mother Teresa’s Pavilion, and the Albanian Ethno culture Pavilion.
National Museum of Independence in Vlora constitutes a complex with authentic values for local and foreign visitors. There are seven wards and two halls in which are preserved and exhibited very valuable items and documents from a special historical period in the early Renaissance to the First World War.
Housed in two charming and well-preserved Ottoman-era buildings around a cobblestone courtyard that are worth to visit, the town's archaeology museum holds 1,200 Hellenic, Roman and Post-Byzantine objects from 6000 BCE to 600 CE. Highlights of the museum are a Byzantine-era floor mosaic and various Roman graves.
National Museum of Medieval Art is a museum in Korçë, Albania. It was established on April 24, 1980. The museum has over 7,000 art and cultural items, mainly icons and less stone, wooden, metal and textile works representing various moments in Albania iconography development. In the principal hall are many works of anonymous artists of the 13th-14th century and well-known ones such as Onufri, Onufër Qiprioti, Teacher Kostandini, Jeromak Shpataraku, David Selenica, the Zografi Brothers, etc.
In Elbasan you may also visit the Ethnographic Museum of Elbasan, the Peqini Castle (15th century CE). The church of Good Friday in Valesh (Kisha e Shen e Premtes) is found in the village of Valesh in the region of Shpati. In this church there are works of the Onufri the famous Albanian painter of XVI Century.
The Ethnographic Museum of Dibra. It is located in “Elez Isufi” boulevard in the town of Peshkopia. The objects of this museum are housed in a traditional building with typical architecture.There are round 2.000 objects displayed to the visitors. The items include a complex of national folk dresses, rugs and carpets, different arms since the Illyrian period.
